INFORMATION LETTER ON THE PREPARATION OF A COLLECTIVE MONOGRAPH

Dear Colleagues,

The Research Institute for Sustainable Development and Green Economy at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan invites scholars and researchers from Tajikistan and abroad to participate in the preparation of a collective monograph titled “Sustainable Development and Green Economy: Experience and Prospects.”

The contemporary world faces numerous challenges, including climate change, environmental degradation, and the urgent need for sustainable economic growth pathways. Sustainable development and the green economy are currently central to the agendas of scientists, policymakers, and business leaders. In this context, the forthcoming monograph aims to serve as a scholarly platform for consolidating research and practical solutions geared toward environmentally sustainable development across various sectors of the economy.

The objective of the monograph is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and innovative approaches among scientists and experts, contributing to the implementation of sustainable development and green economy concepts.

We invite contributions from scholars and researchers from Tajikistan, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and other international institutions.

Main thematic fields of the monograph:

  1. Theoretical foundations of sustainable development and the green economy:
  • theoretical foundations and concepts of sustainable development and green economy;
  • scientific approaches to assessing the sustainability of socio-economic systems;
  • interactions between ecology, economy, and society within the sustainable development framework.
  1. Green Energy:
  • development of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient technologies;
  • the socio-economic impacts of green energy on regional development;
  • policy and strategies for transitioning to sustainable energy systems.
  1. Green Industry and Circular Economy:
  • implementation of closed-loop production processes and technologies;
  • the role of the circular economy in minimizing waste and optimizing resource utilization;
  • governmental support for green industrial initiatives.
  1. Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security:
  • the impact of climate change on agriculture and methods of adaptation;
  • the use of eco-sustainable technologies to enhance food security;
  • support for dehkan (farm) enterprises and agricultural communities in the context of sustainable development.
  1. Green Construction:
    • innovations in the construction of energy-efficient and sustainable buildings;
    • sustainable urban planning and design;
    • case studies of successful green construction practices and their impacts on the urban environment.
  2. Sustainable Development in the Service Sector:
    • the application of green technologies in the service industry, including transportation, tourism, hospitality, and retail;
    • environmentally responsible business models in the service sector;
    • educational programs aimed at promoting sustainable practices in the service industry.
  3. Environmental and Natural Resource Management:
    • land and water resource management;
    • biodiversity protection and ecosystem services;
    • environmental risks and strategies for mitigating them.
  4. Green Employment and Environmental Education:
  • growth of the green labor market and the creation of new employment opportunities;
  • environmental education and awareness-raising for sustainable development;
  • national and international programs for promoting ecological awareness.
  1. Legal Aspects of Sustainable Development:
  • international and national legislation on sustainable development;
  • legal regulation of the green economy and sustainable industries;
  • barriers and opportunities in the legal framework amid global transformations.
  1. International Relations and Green Diplomacy:
  • the role of international cooperation in promoting the green economy;
  • green diplomacy as a tool for resolving environmental and economic conflicts;
  • international initiatives and agreements in the context of sustainable development.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Length: Articles should not exceed 30 A4-sized pages.
  2. Originality: The text must be at least 80% original. All submissions will undergo a plagiarism check.
  3. Formatting: Times New Roman font, size 14, 0 line spacing, with 2 cm margins on all sides.
  4. References: Citations and references should conform to international standards.
  5. Language: Submissions are accepted in Tajik, Russian or English.

Key Deadlines:

  1. Submission deadline: by December 1, 2024.
  2. Peer Review and Revisions: by December 10, 2024.
  3. Publication Date: by December 20, 2024.

Editorial Board:

The editorial board consists of leading scholars and experts in the fields of sustainable development and the green economy. All submissions will undergo peer review to ensure the highest academic standards.
