On August 31, 2026, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, visited the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan as part of his official working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by the Rector of the University, Professor Ubaydullo Asrorzoda. During the visit, the Rector presented the University’s achievements, educational and research capacities, modern infrastructure, and priority areas for the institution’s development.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held between Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the University’s leadership and faculty. The meeting focused on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, supporting the University’s initiatives, developing educational infrastructure, strengthening its material and technical facilities, digitalization, professional skills development, youth entrepreneurship, and the implementation of projects of social and economic importance.
The OPEC Fund delegation was also presented with a number of the University’s priority investment projects aimed at establishing modern educational infrastructure, advancing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, developing a green campus, supporting youth entrepreneurship, and improving the system of training specialists for the tourism and service sectors.
In his remarks, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and shared his impressions of the visit to the University. He emphasized the importance of investing in education and human capital, as well as creating new opportunities for young people.
The visit of the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development to the University is regarded as an important step toward strengthening cooperation, presenting new investment opportunities, and creating a foundation for the implementation of joint initiatives.
