On June 26, 2026, the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan hosted an academic conference dedicated to the adoption of the United Nations General Assembly resolution entitled “International Decade for Peace for Future Generations (2027–2036).”
The conference was opened by the Rector of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Ubaydullo Sattor Asrorzoda, who emphasized the historic significance of the adoption of the resolution and the role of the Republic of Tajikistan in advancing international peace initiatives. It was noted that the adoption of this resolution represents another major achievement of Tajikistan’s foreign policy and further strengthens the country’s position as an initiator of global initiatives on peace, security, and constructive international cooperation.
During the conference, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Economic Affairs, Ne’matullo Hikmatullozoda, spoke about the strategic importance of Tajikistan’s new initiative, the role of the Leader of the Nation in strengthening global peace and stability, and the need to promote a culture of peace among younger generations.
The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan, Aziz Qodir Giyozoda, then addressed the audience, discussing Tajikistan’s peace-oriented diplomacy, the significance of the resolution for the international community, and the country’s contribution to strengthening international cooperation.
In addition, Makhfirat Umar Khidirzoda, Member of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda of the Republic of Tajikistan, Doctor of Philosophy, and Professor, analyzed issues related to fostering a culture of peace, strengthening civic values, and the role of young people in implementing the objectives of the “International Decade for Peace for Future Generations (2027–2036).”
In concluding the conference, participants emphasized that the adoption of this resolution by the United Nations General Assembly constitutes another recognition of Tajikistan’s global initiatives and provides a favorable foundation for expanding international cooperation, promoting a culture of peace, educating young people in the spirit of humanism, and strengthening global security and stability.
The conference was attended by the university’s leadership, scholars, researchers, faculty members, students, representatives of government institutions, and members of the academic community. It was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive exchange of views.
