On August 31, 2026, Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, visited the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan as part of his working visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.
The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by the Rector of the University, Professor Ubaydullo Asrorzoda, who introduced him to the institution’s achievements, educational and research capacities, modern infrastructure, digitalization processes, and priority areas of the University’s development.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held between Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa, President of the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the University’s leadership and academic community.
During the event, in recognition of Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa’s valuable contribution to the development of international cooperation, support for constructive socio-economic initiatives, promotion of human capital development, and strengthening of partnership relations, he was awarded the title of “Honorary Professor” of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.
Presenting the certificate and “Honorary Professor” badge, the Rector of the University, Professor Ubaydullo Asrorzoda, emphasized that this initiative represents the high regard of the University’s academic community for Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa’s international activities and his contribution to supporting sustainable development, education, and human capital.
Dr. Abdul Hamid Al Khalifa expressed his gratitude to the University’s leadership and academic community for the honor and expressed his readiness to contribute to further strengthening relations and developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
The visit of the President of the OPEC Fund for International Development to the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, together with the awarding of the title of “Honorary Professor,” is regarded as a new chapter in the University’s cooperation with prominent international institutions. It creates favorable conditions for promoting the University’s investment opportunities, launching joint initiatives, and implementing new educational and innovative projects.
