Brief Information
Islombek Sangmahmad Zoirzoda is the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan. He holds a PhD in Economics, is an Associate Professor, and is a recognized expert in the field of human capital economics and economic security.
Since 2003, he has been working professionally in science and higher education. Zoirzoda I.S.’s research interests cover a wide range of topical issues in modern economic science, including the theory and practice of human capital development, issues of ensuring its economic security, financing mechanisms, and regional characteristics of human capital formation in the Republic of Tajikistan. His research focuses on the impact of demographic changes on the structure and quality of human capital, as well as on maintaining and improving public health as a key factor in sustainable socioeconomic development.
Zoirzoda I.S. is the author of six monographs, five textbooks, three teaching aids, and over 80 research articles published in domestic and international journals. His research focuses on tourism and entrepreneurship, economic security, digitalization of the economy, public finance, and human capital development. His publications are distinguished by their scientific originality, practical focus, and significant contribution to the development of economic thought.
Associate Professor Zoirzoda I.S.’s contribution to the development of science and the higher education system of the Republic of Tajikistan is of strategic importance. He actively participates in the development and implementation of international projects, including the project “Improving the Quality of Education through the Use of an Electronic Information and Educational Environment at the University”, aimed at modernizing the educational process and introducing digital technologies into the higher education system.
To enhance his professional qualifications and expand international cooperation, he completed internships and study tours in Malaysia, India, Iran, Turkey, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, which contributed to strengthening scientific ties and introducing advanced international practices into the university’s educational and research activities.
For his significant contribution to the development of science and education, he was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan (2022) and the title of “Excellent Worker in Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan” (2012). As Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Zoirzoda Islombek Sangmahmad provides strategic leadership for the university’s research and innovation activities. He coordinates the development and implementation of research plans, ensures the development of grant activities and the attraction of extra-budgetary funding sources, promotes the introduction of innovative technologies and the development of competitive scientific products. His responsibilities include establishing and expanding scientific relationships, supporting the publication activities of faculty, and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of research and innovation projects.
Zoirzoda Islombek Sangmahmad’s professional activities are aimed at strengthening the university’s scientific potential, improving the quality of education, and integrating national science into the international scientific and educational space.
