On March 12, 2026, the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan warmly welcomed a delegation of rectors from higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who arrived in Tajikistan as part of the Third Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The guests were received by the university leadership in accordance with national traditions and customs.
During the meeting, the Rector of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Professor Ubaydullo Sattor Asrorzoda, presented the university’s educational, scientific, and infrastructural capacities and provided detailed information on its experience in training highly qualified specialists in the fields of tourism, entrepreneurship, economics, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence.
It was emphasized that the development of international cooperation is one of the university’s priority areas. Expanding ties with higher education institutions in neighboring countries, particularly the Republic of Uzbekistan, is important for exchanging experience, implementing joint scientific projects, and preparing competitive specialists for the labor market. Such cooperation contributes to strengthening friendly relations and enhancing scientific and educational integration between the two countries.
The participants were also informed about the International Forum entitled “Cooperation for Sustainable Development: Green. Digital. Smart.”, which is scheduled to take place from April 14 to 18, 2026, at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan in coordination with the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
As part of the visit, cooperation agreements were signed between the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan and several higher education institutions of Uzbekistan.
Among them was a cooperation agreement between the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan and the Islam Karimov Tashkent State Technical University.
In addition, cooperation agreements were signed between the university’s constituent institutions and Uzbek higher education institutions, including:
- The Danghara International Institute of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan and the Samarkand Institute of Economics, Ecology, and Services;
- The Levakant International Institute and the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy;
- The Khujand International Institute and the Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature;
- The Academy of Tourism and the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage;
- The Institute of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence and Bukhara State Technical University;
- The Institute of World Economy and Diplomacy and Namangan State University;
- The Republican Institute for Advanced Training of Tourism and Service Sector Personnel and Bukhara Technical University.
It was noted that the implementation of these agreements will contribute to the development of joint educational programs, the exchange of faculty and students, the conduct of scientific research, the implementation of international projects, and the improvement of educational quality.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and ensure the effective implementation of the signed agreements. They described these initiatives as an important step toward the development of scientific and cultural relations between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
