VISIT OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRAL, WESTERN AND EASTERN ASIA DEPARTMENT GROUP OF THE ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK TO THE UNIVERSITY

On August 19, 2026, a meeting was held at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan between the University Rector, Professor Ubaydullo Asrorzoda, and Ms. Sofia Shakil, Director of the Central, Western and Eastern Asia Department Group, Human and Social Development Division of the Asian Development Bank’s Sector Group Departments.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation between the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan and the Asian Development Bank. They exchanged views on the implementation of joint projects in the areas of tourism, digital skills development, digital diplomacy, infrastructure development, as well as opportunities for further expanding cooperation.

The current state of cooperation was also discussed, with particular emphasis placed on the important contribution of the Asian Development Bank to strengthening educational infrastructure, creating modern conditions for vocational training, enhancing the practical skills of young people, and aligning workforce training with the requirements of the labor market.

University Rector, Professor Ubaydullo Sattor, highly appreciated the contribution of the Asian Development Bank to the development of vocational education and the training of competitive specialists. He expressed the University’s readiness to further strengthen and expand cooperation, particularly in the areas of professional skills development, introduction of modern educational technologies, digitalization, and enhancing employment opportunities for graduates.

The guests also visited the University’s facilities for the training of highly qualified specialists, as well as the Center for Skills Development, Vocational Training and Services. They familiarized themselves with the facilities, modern educational and practical infrastructure, and vocational training opportunities. The guests highly appreciated the activities of the Center and the level of its organization.
