Visit of the International Advisor of QAA to the University

On March 17, 2026, Chris McIntyre, an international advisor in higher education at the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) of the United Kingdom, visited the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan.

During his visit, Mr. Chris McIntyre held a productive meeting with the Rector of the University, Professor Ubaydullo Sattor. The purpose of the meeting was to study and analyze the higher education system with a view to strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United Kingdom based on the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the fields of science and higher education.

It is worth noting that the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) is one of the most prestigious higher education quality assurance and accreditation agencies in the United Kingdom and enjoys a high international reputation.

It should also be recalled that on November 3, 2025, during an official visit to the United Kingdom, the Rector of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Mr. Ubaydullo Asrorzoda, met with the leadership of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.

During that meeting, issues related to cooperation with accreditation agencies in the field of educational quality assurance, as well as obtaining international programmatic and institutional accreditation, were discussed.

At present, the university administration has submitted an application to the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) for the university to undergo international accreditation.

During the current meeting, in addition to discussing the study and analysis of the higher education sector and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions of Tajikistan and the United Kingdom, the parties also reviewed the next stages of the university’s process toward obtaining international programmatic and institutional accreditation.
