THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN AS A LEADING INITIATOR IN ADDRESSING GLOBAL WATER AND CLIMATE CHALLENGES – VIEWS OF INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS

On the afternoon of May 25, 2026, the Third Economic Forum entitled “Sustainable Water Resource Management in the Context of Climate Change” continued its work at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan in an atmosphere of scientific discussion and constructive exchange of ideas.

Within the forum’s specialized sessions, distinguished professors, scientists, and experts from both Tajikistan and abroad shared their views on pressing issues related to effective water resource management, the impact of climate change on the environment, the use of modern technologies in protecting natural resources, ensuring environmental security, and promoting the sustainable development of a green economy.

During the discussions, participants emphasized that the rational use of water resources has become one of the most important areas of international cooperation and requires countries and scientific institutions to expand their collaboration through mutual understanding and the exchange of experience.

At the same time, foreign experts and scholars highly praised the role of the Republic of Tajikistan as an initiating country in addressing global water and climate issues. They highlighted the international initiatives of the Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon, in the fields of water resource protection and sustainable development.

As the forum continued, participants presented specific proposals aimed at strengthening scientific and research cooperation, implementing joint projects, and introducing innovative technologies for the protection and efficient use of water resources.
