THE INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF TOURISM AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP OF TAJIKISTAN SUMMARIZED THE RESULTS OF ITS ACTIVITIES FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2026

An expanded meeting of the Academic Council was held at the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan with the participation of Saidullo Quvvatzoda Zuvaid, Head of the Department of Education and Science of the Directorate for Education, Culture and Information of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. During the meeting, the University’s performance in the first six months of 2026 was comprehensively reviewed and analyzed.

The meeting examined the University’s achievements, existing challenges, and identified priority tasks for its further development.

During the presentation of the report, it was emphasized that throughout the reporting period, the University’s faculty members and staff achieved significant results in implementing the education policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, as well as in accomplishing the University’s strategic objectives.

One of the most notable achievements of the first half of the year was the successful organization of the inaugural International Forum “Cooperation for Sustainable Development: Green. Digital. Smart.” The forum brought together scholars and experts from more than 80 countries, creating favorable conditions for expanding international cooperation, strengthening scientific networks, and implementing joint projects.

In addition, within the framework of the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028,” the University organized several international forums. During these events, a cooperation agreement was signed between the University and the United Nations Institute for Water, Environment and Health.

The report also highlighted that, following amendments to the University’s Charter, three new academic entities were established within its structure: the Institute of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence, the Institute of World Economy and Diplomacy, and the Academy of Tourism. These initiatives have created a solid foundation for developing priority educational fields and training highly competitive specialists.

The University also achieved significant progress in the areas of sustainable development and the green economy. Among the major accomplishments of the reporting period were the commissioning of a 150 kW solar power plant and the University’s designation as the National Coordinator of the international GreenMetric ranking.

The meeting also discussed improving the quality of education, fully digitalizing administrative processes, expanding the electronic document management system, strengthening scientific and innovative activities, enhancing the research capacity of the academic staff, improving educational quality, and increasing the University’s participation in international rankings.

At the conclusion of the meeting, specific instructions were issued to the heads of all structural units to ensure the timely implementation of assigned tasks, strengthen the University’s position as a “Sustainable University: Green. Digital. Smart.”, further develop scientific and innovative activities, accelerate digital transformation, and enhance the University’s international competitiveness.

The meeting concluded with the recognition of a group of distinguished faculty members and employees who were awarded certificates of appreciation and honorary awards from the University administration for their valuable contributions to the development of education, research, and innovation.
