OPENING OF THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM “COOPERATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. GREEN. DIGITAL. SMART.”

On April 14, 2026, in Dushanbe, the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, the International Forum entitled “Cooperation for Sustainable Development. Green. Digital. Smart.” was officially inaugurated with the participation of a wide range of representatives from government institutions, scientific organizations, and international partners.

The opening ceremony was attended by the leadership of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Dilrabo Mansuri, the Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan for Social Development and Public Relations, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan, a representative of the Executive Body of State Authority of Dushanbe City, as well as members of the diplomatic corps, rectors of domestic and foreign higher education institutions, representatives of ministries and agencies, the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, and international guests.

The forum commenced with an opening address by the University Rector, Professor Ubaydullo Sattor Asrorzoda. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for supporting the university’s initiative to organize such an important international event and emphasized the significance of expanding cooperation in sustainable development, the green economy, digitalization, and the implementation of smart technologies. He also warmly welcomed the international guests to Tajikistan and described the forum as an important platform for strengthening international partnerships.

Subsequently, speeches were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Dilrabo Mansuri; the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, Parvati Ramaswamy; Minister of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmonzoda Abdurahmon Safarali; Assistant to the President for Social Development and Public Relations Safarzoda Anvar Islom; Chairperson of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan Barno Saidnabi Saidvalizoda; First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Homid Hasan Hoshimzoda; Chairman of the Green Universities of Indonesia, Vishnu Juwono; Rector of Khushal Khan Khattak University of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Tahir; Rector of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Türkiye, Mehmed Saribiyik; President of the Academy of Tourism and International Relations of the Russian Federation, Olga Vyacheslavovna Pirogova; and Director of the Asia-Pacific Maritime Academy of the Philippines, Angelica Baylon.

The speakers highlighted the role of international cooperation in ensuring sustainable development, achieving national strategic objectives, and attracting investment.

It was noted that the forum would serve as an important platform for exchanging experience, presenting new initiatives, and launching joint projects in the fields of green economy, digital technologies, and smart governance, thereby fostering multilateral cooperation among countries.

A series of plenary sessions, panel discussions, and bilateral meetings are expected to take place within the framework of the forum, providing an opportunity for in-depth discussions on key issues related to sustainable development.
