IUTET: A Modern Center for Training Tourism Professionals in the Spotlight of the Saint Petersburg Delegation

As part of strengthening sister-city cooperation between the city of Dushanbe of the Republic of Tajikistan and the city of Saint Petersburg of the Russian Federation, a tourism route to the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan was organized on May 22, 2026, for the official delegation of Saint Petersburg.

The delegation included Nana Gvichia, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Tourism Development of Saint Petersburg, along with other officials who were on a working visit to the capital of the country.

During the visit, the guests were accompanied by Dilshod Jamshed, Head of the Tourism Development Department of the Executive Authority of the City of Dushanbe, and other responsible officials.

The official delegation visited the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, which is regarded as the country’s principal material and technical base for training specialists in the tourism sector.

At the university, the delegation was welcomed by the university’s leadership and representatives of its structural divisions. During a productive meeting, university officials introduced the guests to the institution’s extensive educational opportunities, modern teaching technologies, and joint programs for training highly qualified specialists in tourism and hospitality.

The visitors toured the university’s material and technical facilities, specialized classrooms, and educational and practical training centers, highly appreciating the conditions provided and the quality of professional training.

The parties also discussed issues related to expanding future academic cooperation in the field of tourism and exchanging professional experience.

Such visits by official delegations and the organization of tourism routes actively contribute to the effective promotion of Dushanbe’s tourism potential, the strengthening of friendly relations, and the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between sister cities and their scientific and educational institutions.
