UNIVERSITY RECTOR DELIVERS SPEECH AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN LEVAKANT

Within the framework of the International Forum “Cooperation for Sustainable Development: Green. Digital. Intelligent.”, the Rector of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan, Professor Ubaidullo Sattor Asrorzoda, participated and delivered a speech at the international scientific-practical conference titled “Water Resource Management and the Development of the Green Economy in the Context of Climate Change.”

In his opening remarks, the Rector welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of holding such a high-level event in the current global context. It was noted that the conference was being held at the Levakant International Institute, one of the structural units of the university, and that it carries significant historical importance.

It was highlighted that the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, had studied at the vocational lyceum located within the institute’s territory, which is a source of great pride.

In his speech, it was further stated that in the context of rapid climate change and increasing global challenges, the efficient management of water resources and the development of a green economy have become priority areas of state policy worldwide. Tajikistan, as a country rich in water resources and with significant hydropower potential, holds a leading position in promoting international initiatives in the water sector.

The Rector also referred to Tajikistan’s global initiatives in the field of water and climate, emphasizing that under the forward-looking leadership of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, issues of water and climate change consistently remain at the center of global attention. In particular, the implementation of international initiatives such as water-related decades reflects the country’s significant contribution to addressing global challenges.

He further noted that sustainable economic development is impossible without the rational use of natural resources, especially water. In this regard, the implementation of green economy principles, the introduction of modern technologies and digitalization in water resource management, as well as the expansion of international cooperation, are of particular importance.
